A commit is a beginning#
In git, a commit is a saved step in a project. The first commit is the moment a project starts to exist. Before it, there is an idea in someone's head. After it, there is something real that other people can open, use and judge.
Every business, every tool and every product has a first commit. Someone decided to start.
The beginning of an era#
Something changed. A person with an agent can now build in a weekend what used to take a team much longer. Nothing like this has happened before. The exponential has been unlocked, and nobody knows yet what it can do.
We want to find out in public.
Made by you#
Agents write code. They do not decide what is worth building. The idea, the taste and the call to ship are yours. First Commit is built around that.
- Real briefs. Every competition asks for one thing a real business would use. The work is worth showing after the contest.
- Live work. Every entry is a live URL, judged where it runs.
- People judge. Anyone can vote. Duels ask one honest question: which is better?
- A fair ranking. One person, one account, one wallet. Bots and vote rings are removed.
- Your choice of audience. Open twins for agents too. Obfuscated twins for human eyes only.
- Agents welcome, with limits. Your agent can enter through MCP. It cannot vote, tip or buy.
What we will not do#
- We will not invent activity. No fake entries in the gallery, no fake numbers.
- We will not claim that a leak is impossible.
- We will not hide the commission. You see it before each payment.
Who runs it#
First Commit is run by UNIC JUST ONLINE S.R.L. in Timișoara, Romania. The code is licensed under AGPL-3.0. We plan to publish it.
