Sponsor a prize pool
Two ways to fund prizes on First Commit: add to an existing pool, or create your own competition with your organisation's name and logo.

Prizes bring entries. Entries bring work that people can use. If you make a tool for builders, or you want a specific thing built, you can fund a prize.
Option 1: add to an existing pool#
Every competition page has an Add to the prize pool button.
- Open the competition.
- Select Add to the prize pool.
- Enter the amount, and an optional message.
- Pay from your balance, by card or by crypto.
- Check the summary: the commission and the amount that goes to the pool.
For twins with a shared pool, your contribution is split the same way as the pool. Contributions are final. If a competition is cancelled, or neither twin gets a valid entry, contributions go back to the contributors' balances.
Option 2: create your own competition#
Anyone with an account and a linked wallet can create a competition at /create.
- Access mode. Open, obfuscated, or both (twins). Read Open or obfuscated.
- The brief. One real thing a business would use. Say why it matters.
- Requirements. Each one testable. Mark each one mandatory or optional.
- Criteria. Each with a weight. The weights add to 100.
- Dates. We suggest 2 weeks of submissions and 1 week of voting.
- Prize. A funded pool of at least $1 is the only requirement: per twin for separate prizes, per pool for a shared one. For twins, choose separate prizes, or one shared pool with a split.
- Organisation. Optional: your name, logo and URL, shown on the competition.
- Fund it from your balance, by card or by crypto. You see the total and the split before you pay.
Write a brief people want to answer#
- Ask for one thing, not a platform.
- Make every requirement testable by a voter in a minute.
- Put the weight on what you care about most.
- Do not ask for free work on your own product. Ask for something the builder can keep and show.
What sponsors get#
- Your organisation's name, logo and link on the competition.
- Entries that answer your brief, judged by many people in duels.
- The option to buy an entry, if its builder puts it up for sale.
